Oldham College is one of the town’s biggest employers and these are exciting times…

We are at the forefront of reshaping post-16 education to deliver the future skills and trades needed in the new economy by learners of all ages.

That means we are expanding our workforce to grow the very best new talents – people like YOU who can really make a difference to people’s lives.

What’s the opportunity?

We’re launching a fantastic new opportunity with our Teaching Scholarship programme.

Our maths programme is growing at a rapid rate and we’re looking to find and invest in the next set of teaching talent to meet that demand.

You have exactly what are looking for if you have:

  • Level 2 qualifications in maths and English, and a Level 3 qualification in maths (or a related subject such as Statistics)
  • Experience in supporting people to develop: for example, through training or mentoring on the job
  • Dedication to high standards and keen to share your relevant knowledge and experience with the next generation of learners.

A degree level qualification is not essential; however it is desirable if you have or are working towards this.

How will you benefit?

Successful applicants will join our teaching training programme for FREE while you start to work for us.

You’ll get a comprehensive package of support including an Advanced Practitioner to mentor and guide you through the process, plus time off to do the learning in your working hours.

You will be enrolled onto a course taking you through Levels 3, 4 and 5 and then a Level 7 Diploma in Education – all fully funded by Oldham College.

We also offer you a very competitive starting salary: fully qualified Maths tutors will receive a salary of £35,997. Oldham College also offers a fantastic range of staff rewards and benefits (see below).

Oldham College: Where Learning Works & Skills Pay

This opportunity is for people who have a passion for sharing skills and improving people’s prospects.

If you enjoy sharing your knowledge, are keen to see others succeed and are enthusiastic about working in a team environment, then why not send us your CV now and start the conversation with us?

During the training programme you would be expected to:

  • Do structured and private study to secure your qualifications and develop outstanding teaching skills
  • Work with our learners supporting the development of their knowledge, skills and behaviours
