Oldham College were proud winners at the Oldham Business Awards 2023 last Friday (September 22).
We won the ‘Workforce Health and Wellbeing’ category – beating off stiff competition from Diodes Incorporated and Mahdlo Youth Zone for this accolade.
The winners were announced at a gala dinner at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and our award was collected by the triumphant trio (pictured, left to right) of Danielle Vipond (Programme Tutor, Business), Josie Norbury (Director of HR and OD) and Paula Litherland (Programme Tutor, Sport).
Josie said: “It is absolutely fantastic for Oldham College to be recognised by peers across all borough sectors for this work.”
“Our workforce health and wellbeing offer was highlighted by judges because of our commitment to developing a holistic approach that sets a strong example others can follow.
“We’ve combined a range of methods and resources to do this. That included a three-month study into wellbeing at Oldham College by Paula Litherland, staff bootcamps for Health Month, the introduction of employee wellbeing advisers, making great resources available free from MIND and the NHS – and much more.
“Fostering employee wellbeing is good for people and our organisation. It helps prevent stress and create positive working environments where everyone can thrive – including our learners.”

We’d also like to congratulate Pearson Solicitors, who won the Oldham College-sponsored ‘Supporting Young People Award’, plus Sports Physio UK and Barlows who were also shortlisted.
