The Oldham College Bursary come from government funds which are available to provide eligible students with help towards course-related expenses such as travel, course-related trips, books, equipment, meals and childcare.
Let us help you with the costs of coming to College! *

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from current students:

  • Whose annual gross household income is less than £34,400
  • Who are studying on an eligible course
  • Who have had their application for an Advanced Learner Loan Approved – if applicable
  • Who are eligible to study in the UK

Students must also have a bank account in their own name, we are unable to make payments into anybody else’s account. For help opening a bank account, the Money Advice Service provides an article here

Do you need help with the cost of childcare?

If you have children and need to pay for childcare whilst you are in College the Bursary can help with this cost. You can choose the childcare provider but they must be Ofsted Registered.

To apply for support with the cost of childcare you will need to complete an Online Bursary Application and download the relevant Childcare Application Form below.

If you are a parent aged 16-19 you cannot apply for the College Bursary to help with your childcare costs, instead you will need to apply for the government Care to Learn Scheme. For more information, eligibility and how to apply visit; www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.
