Overview

Course: Access to HE Diploma (Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Professions) (full time) Level 3

Start Dates: This is a one year course which starts in September.

Delivery Method:

This course is delivered with a blended learning approach. The majority of the course is delivered in the classroom, and some will be delivered using an online platform.

You will be required to attend college 2 days per week, with the rest of your studies completed either as directed study with your tutor or through independent work.

Course Aims

If you don't have the right qualifications you need for university and are looking to start a career in one of the many roles within the health sector, this course is for you. This qualification will help you to develop the foundational knowledge and skills you need to progress.

What will I study?

This qualification combines subject topics primarily in health, sociological perspectives in healthcare, and biology to provide a programme designed to give scope when choosing a degree to suit your career choice.

The curriculum will give you a core understanding of essential topics which will help you to build a good foundation of topical knowledge for your degree.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed for each unit through a variety of methods, which will develop the important skills and abilities that you will use on your degree course. This includes academic essay writing, research skills, analysis of data, and presentation skills.

Entry requirements

To enrol on the course you must have already achieved 4 GCSEs, including English and Maths at a minimum of grade 4/C. Unfortunately, we do not accept Functional Skills as an equivalent.

Applicants must be age 19 as of the 31st August of the year of study.
