This qualification provides an ideal taster for those who may be new to the sector or new to the world of work. It will give a good understanding of working in health and social care; and will introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector.
The content of the qualification centres around the fundamental concepts when working in adult social care. The course includes units such as communication, equality, diversity and inclusion, personal development, the role of the social care worker, safeguarding and person-centred approaches.
The qualification is internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence.
