Level 3 Diplomas are vocational qualifications which focus on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the beauty industry. They are a stepping-stone to a higher-level qualification such as VRQ Diplomas, Technical Diplomas and NVQ'S. HABIA, the standard setting body for Hair and Beauty, has approved them and the awarding body City & Guilds provide the qualification
To achieve full certification you complete the mandatory unit and have evidence of prior learning for health and safety (or complete the health and safety unit)
You will complete units including:
Working with colleagues within the beauty industry
Client care and communication
Monitor and maintain health & safety
Promote and sell products and services
Provide body massage
Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
Provide Indian head massage
Provide hot stone therapy massage
Monitor & maintain spa area
Provide Spa treatments
Practical Assessments These are formative and summative assessments and are graded Pass/ Merit/ Distinction; the assessments are ongoing and are targeted using an assessment calendar
Theory Assessments These are graded Pass/Refer exams are multiple choice and are taken online. You must achieve a minimum of 60% to be successful otherwise the assignment option may need to be completed.
Minimum requirement of literacy at level 2.
