Course: Barbering Level 3

This course starts in September. A second group starts on 24th April (2026/27).

Course Aims

Level 3 Certificates are vocational qualifications which focus on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the Barbering industry. They are a stepping stone to higher-level qualifications, such as VRQ Diplomas and NVQs. These qualifications are approved by HABIA, the standard setting body for Hair and Beauty, and provided by City &a Guild, the awarding body.

What will I study?

Core topics include:

Health & Safety Consultation Cutting men's hair Cutting facial hair Shaving and facial massage service

How will I be assessed?

This course is assessed by both theory and practical assessments.

These assessments are graded Pass, Merit and Distinction. The assessments are ongoing and planned using an assessment calendar.

Entry requirements

The minimum requirement for entry onto this course is Adult Literacy Level 2.
