If you want to develop a career in finance, why not focus on the role of a Retail and Commercial Banking Analyst? This role delivers financial advice and solutions tailored to clients' needs, such as helping them grow their business.
Retail banking is the division of a bank that deals directly with individual customers, providing services such as savings accounts, loans and payment solutions. Commercial banks, on the other hand, make loans that enable businesses to grow, hire people and contribute to the expansion of the economy.
If this career path interests you, you can enrol in this new generation of Gold Standard qualifications as a technical alternative to A Levels. T Levels are developed by the Institute for Apprenticeships, employers and the Department for Education, ensuring that the content is relevant to industry needs.
The T Level Technical Qualification in Finance also provides the opportunity to specialise in the role of a Retail and Commercial Banking Analyst, giving you practical knowledge and skills that employers value. Completing this qualification can open doors to employment or further study in higher education.
T Levels are split into three main sections:
1) Technical qualification (TQ): This is the main, classroom-based element. Students will learn about their chosen sectors through a curriculum designed by employers and developed by the awarding organisation (AO) Pearson. This is made up of core content with the opportunity to specialise in one of four different occupational specialisms, in this case a Retail and Commercial Banking Analyst. Through the core content, students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:
2) Industry placement: This runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and gives students practical insights into their sector, as well as an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
3) English, maths, and digital provision: These are also built into the classroom-based element of the T Level, providing students with a solid foundation of transferable skills
To achieve this T Level, learners must meet all requirements of the T Level framework, of which the technical qualification is one component. Learners must successfully complete an industry placement and achieve maths and English at Level 2.
Learners must complete:
