Enrolment

We can’t wait to welcome you to Oldham College this September!

Enrolment is a very important part of your journey with us: it’s where you officially become an Oldham College learner.

Below you will find out details of our enrolment dates as well as what happens on the day and what you need to bring.

School leaver 16-18

Securing a place on a course at Oldham College is subject to meeting entry requirements, capacity and availability.

Thursday 21st August (GCSE Results Day) is an invite-only event for 16-18 applicants with an Oldham College Promise. This is for applicants who have received an offer and accepted this offer. Please do not come to enrol on this day unless you have been invited.

In-demand courses

Please note: some of our 16-18 courses are in high demand and are less likely to have spaces to enrol onto if you do not have an Oldham College Promise – these are listed below.

If you are hoping to enrol on any of the courses listed and do not already have an Oldham College Promise (which means that you have received an offer on a course which you have then accepted), then we advise that you speak to our Careers Team about your options.

At this stage in the application process, no more Oldham College Promises or offers on a course will be given.

In-demand courses include:

  • Care Services: Level 3 Health and Social Care
  • Construction: Level 2 Brickwork, Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery, Level 2 Electrical, Level 3 T Level in Building Services Engineering for Construction (Electrotechnical)
  • Legal, Finance and Accounting: Level 2 Accounting AAT

What do I need to bring to enrolment?

Please make sure you have the following documents and information with you when you come to enrol:

  • Copies of your qualifications and certificates, such as GCSE results
  • Please note that we cannot accept non-UK qualifications. You will need a statement of comparability from ENIC for these – for more information, please visit UK ENIC – Statement of Comparability
  • Photo ID (if you are 19+; ages 16-18 do not require photo ID)
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Proof of your residency, if you have not lived in the UK or EU for the 3 years prior to September 2025. If you are an EU/EEA citizen, you must bring proof of your settled status
  • Adult learners will need evidence of any benefits currently received and/or 3 months of their most recent payslips.

What happens at enrolment?

Our enrolment team is on hand to make the process as smooth as possible.

Please visit Alderson Street at the rear of campus (postcode OL9 6DS) where you will be directed to the correct enrolment location.

On arrival, you’ll be directed to Stage 1 of enrolment, where you will give your personal details, previous qualifications and confirm the course you are enrolling onto.

At Stage 2, you will sign your Learning Agreement, have your photo taken and complete the enrolment process. If you are an adult learner, here you will discuss your funding options and arrange payment of any fees.

Once enrolled, you’ll leave with your student ID badge! You will receive your timetable from Monday 1st September via email and can view this by logging onto the My Oldham College app.
