Oldham College signs the Armed Forces Covenant

We are incredibly proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment to supporting and recognising the contributions of serving members, veterans, military families and volunteers to both our country and community.

This week, we were joined by Major Eddy Hardaker, Regimental Administrative Officer, 75 Engineer Regiment, and Louisa Blakemore, Defence Relationship Manager from the Armed Forces. The signing is an important national pledge that reinforces support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

Rachel James, Deputy Principal said “Oldham College is proud to work with the Armed Forces Covenant, showing our support for all of those who serve or have served in the armed forces. We value the experience and dedication they bring, and we’re committed to helping them thrive in education, employment and beyond.”

Major Eddy Hardaker said: “The Armed Forces Covenant is a demonstration of commitment to social value and inclusion. It is vitally important to know that support is out there for our military community. Whether that be for a serving member, veteran, military spouse, reservist or adult cadet force volunteer, knowing that Oldham College actively support us makes a real difference. As a resident of Oldham, I am honoured and pleased to be able to countersign the covenant today and would like to thank all involved at Oldham College for making this possible.”
