HTQ Computing – Bridging the Digital Skills Gap

Oldham College and University Campus Oldham are working with the Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG) to help bridge the digital skills gap.

That’s why we’re offering the BTEC Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/D) in Computing at University Campus Oldham.

Higher technical qualifications (HTQs) are an alternative to apprenticeships or degrees. Offered at Levels 4 and 5, these qualifications have been approved against the knowledge, skills and behaviours that employers say they need in the workplace.

This means that learners completing HTQs get a step-up in their career towards highly-skilled roles, and you as an employer can bridge skills gaps in your current workforce.

**

On the HNC/D Computing, students gain knowledge in system methodologies, database design, programming, web development, networking, security and project management frameworks – all skills that will help businesses to thrive.

Upon completion, they are equipped to work in business analysis, web development, cybersecurity, DevOps, system and database administration, and project and help desk management roles.
