Level 3 T Level Technical Qualification in Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development
If you want to develop a career as a software developer designing, testing and producing, or you want to be a tech entrepreneur, then enrol on this new generation of Gold Standard qualifications as a technical alternative to A Levels.
The rise in technology has brought with it a range of digital jobs, meaning that there are lots of opportunities to climb the career ladder quickly and work for some exciting companies along the way. T Levels are developed by the Institute of Apprenticeships; employers such as Fujitsu, IBM and Cap Gemini; and the Department for Education. This T Level is aimed to get you work ready for a career in Digital.
On this two-year course, you will work alongside professionals to prepare you for a career in Software Development, Computer Programming, Software Testing, Games Development, Web Development or Database development & Administration. You will complete:
You will learn through a number of core and occupational specialists units related to areas of Digital Production, Design and Development.
Included in these units are Digital Business, Data Management, Digital Analysis, Digital Environments, Legislation, Planning, Security and Testing.
The units are taught through practical project work, classroom workshops and an industry placement with a digital company of at least 45 days across the two years. This combination of learning ensures that you have a rich technical knowledge and accelerates your ability to apply your learning in the workplace, becoming part of a team of digital experts.
Included within your course will be masterclasses with industry experts, visits to businesses and your own industry mentor to help develop your career.
Your knowledge, skills and understanding will be assessed through an externally set exam, an employer set project covering the core units and a project including:
The focus on collaborative learning means you will work with your peers to problem solve, design, implement and test software. You will apply ethical testing and learn to manage risks in line with regulatory requirements.

No formal qualifications are required for this course, although evidence of personal progression from previous education establishments would be beneficial.
These courses are specifically designed for learners with a special educational need (SEND).

English & maths GCSE Grades G-U / 1 or English & maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3
Full Time ESOL
No formal qualification are required for this course, you will recieve an offer of a place subject to passing an assessment;
Full Time GCSE Re-sit Study Course
You will receive an offer of a place on the course subject to passing an assessment.
Full Time Level 1 Course
English & Maths GCSE Grades E-G/1- 2 or English & Maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3.
Full Time Level 2 Course
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including English and Maths or a vocational qualification Level 1 in the chosen subject, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both English and Maths.
English & Maths Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.
Full time Level 3 Course
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A-C/4-9 (including English and Maths) or a vocational qualification Level 2 in the chosen subject,
English & Maths Functional Skills Level 2 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs in some subject areas.
T Level
Minimum of 5 GCSE passes but English and Maths GCSE must be Grade 5 or above.
T levels in Science and Healthcare Science will also require a minimum of a grade 5 in a GCSE Science subject.

If you are aged between 16 and 18 when you start your course and are taking a course leading to a qualification, the tuition and exam fees are free. However, there may be some additional costs for optional trips, recommended text books and professional start up kits. We have a bursary scheme to assist with these costs.
