Course: Diploma in Hairdressing for Colour Technicians Level 3

Start Dates: This course runs from September to June.

Delivery Method: This course is delivered on two evenings per week, Monday 4:30pm-8.30pm and Tuesday 6.15pm-8:15pm.

Course Aims

This Level 3 course is designed to enhance your hairdressing skills to an advanced level, refresh and update your techniques and give you the most up-to-date knowledge to carry out a range of commercial looks relevant to current industry standards.

Level 3 Diplomas and certificates are advanced vocational qualifications which focus on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the Hairdressing industry. They are designed to deliver a high level of occupational capability and allow you to progress to NVQs. They have been designed by City & Guilds and approved by HABIA, the standard setting body for hairdressing.

What will I study?

To achieve full certification you must complete eight units, comprising all five mandatory units and three additional units.

Mandatory units:
Unit 302 Monitor and maintain health and safety practices in the salon
Unit 303 Consultation support for colleagues on hair services
Unit 304 Cut women's hair to create a variety of looks
Unit 305 Style and dress women's hair using a variety of techniques
Unit 306 Colour hair to create a variety of looks
Unit 311 Bridal Hair
Unit 312 Cutting Men's Hair
Unit 316 Creative Hairdressing Design
Unit 205 Promote Products and Services
Unit 213 Display Stock

Learners are required to purchase uniform and kit for this course - more information will provided after application.

How will I be assessed?

This course is assessed through practical assessments, plus an online written exam per unit (10 Units).

Entry requirements

To study this course you must have a previous Level 2 qualification in Ladies' Hairdressing and a minimum requirement of literacy at Level 2.
