PrintOur DIY Skills for Beginners course is ideal for adults, DIYers, hobbyists and people who want introduction into construction to build practical, hands-on skills for home projects. You’ll learn in a friendly, well-equipped workshop environment, supported by knowledgeable tutors who are passionate about helping you gain confidence and enjoy learning new skills.
The course covers a range of essential DIY/construction techniques, along with basic technical know-how and important safety guidance. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation to tackle everyday home improvements, take on personal projects, or explore more advanced training if you choose.
Throughout the course, you'll develop a solid understanding of key construction techniques, including:
Accurate setting out procedures Safe use of tools and equipment Working safely on site Handling and working with various materials Core DIY construction skills Basic finishing techniques used across the industry.This is practically assessed course. You will however need to complete workbooks to support your practical assessments.
Assessments will consist of health and safety, and creating a portfolio of evidence.
