The Careers Team and curriculum staff support students with:
- Exploring different career options
- Job-hunting skills, including finding jobs and apprenticeships, writing CVs and cover letters, completing application forms and preparing for interviews
- Finding the right course or combination of courses, including T Levels and Higher Technical Qualifications, to support their career goals
- Progressing into Higher Education, including University Campus Oldham and other universities
- Understanding the funding available for further study, including Higher Education
- Arranging visits to UCAS events, universities and careers fairs, as well as organising on-campus higher education fairs and employer talks.
The team also organises careers events across the College, helping learners and their parents and carers make informed choices about their future.
Learners also have access to an online careers portal, providing up-to-date careers resources and planning tools to help them prepare for their future.

Our Careers Service
The College has been awarded the Matrix Standard, a national government-approved quality standard recognising the quality of our careers information, advice and guidance services. This reflects the advice and support we provide to help learners make informed choices about their careers, learning, work and life goals.
Our Careers Team works in line with the eight Gatsby Benchmarks, as outlined in the Government’s statutory careers guidance. This helps ensure all learners benefit from meaningful employer encounters and support with higher education and apprenticeship applications.
We support students to progress into apprenticeships, employment, Further Education and Higher Education, including opportunities at University Campus Oldham and other universities.
