Student Recruitment Team

Oldham College’s Student Recruitment Team works in partnership with schools, education providers and careers professionals throughout Greater Manchester.

The team provides pupils, school staff and careers professionals with information, advice and guidance about post-16 education and progression opportunities.

Working closely with the Careers Team, the Student Recruitment Team helps raise aspirations and supports students to explore their post-16 options and make informed decisions about their next steps.

The team uses the eight Gatsby Benchmarks to support education providers in developing their careers programme.

How Oldham College can support your school with Provider Access Legislation (PAL)

The Provider Access Legislation (PAL) requires schools and colleges to provide at least six meaningful encounters with approved providers of technical and professional education for all students.

These encounters take place twice during Years 8 and 9, twice during Years 10 and 11, and twice during Years 12 and 13. They help ensure that all young people understand the academic, technical and professional education routes available to them, so they can make informed choices about their future.

• Promoting equal access to information and opportunities.
