AN Oldham hairdresser stepped out in style in her first major competition in London.
Headhunter’s apprentice stylist Tia Jones came third in the Hairdresser Journal’s Rising Star category after recreating a bouncy blow dry inspired by singer Rihanna.
Tia, aged 17, who is a former Hathershaw College student from Derker and now attends Oldham College on day release, faced stiff competition from 20 other salon apprentices at the Salon International event at London Excel Exhibition Centre.
She was overjoyed to win £250 and is now offering to the style to customers at the Ashton Road salon.
