Dr Shaid Mushtaq is a well-respected local businessman and a very active member of the Oldham community. He was a local councillor and Lead Member for Children and Young People until May 2026. Shaid led the improvement of Children's Services from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good' as Lead Member.
He is currently a trustee at the charities Sure Start who support families across Oldham, Stockport and Tameside. He is also a trustee at POINT who support families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
