National Careers Week 2024, which took place earlier this month, concluded with an event at the GM Chamber of Commerce.
Staff from both Oldham College and University Campus Oldham, Oldham College’s higher education provision, attended and presented to employers to stimulate discussions about skills, qualification reforms and the Greater Manchester Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).
Informative engagement took place around the skills that employers need, and ways in which current workforces could be upskilled.
Essential careers and labour market information was also shared – plus more on forthcoming reforms and the Local Skills Improvement Fund – and there was positive dialogue about future opportunities for Oldham College and University Campus Oldham to work together with businesses.
