What will I study?

This T-Level course aims to prepare students for progression to employment or further study in the occupational specialism of Content Creation and Production for Media and Broadcasting. The T-Level develops technical skills such as;

  • Use project, production methodology and management from start to finish from planning to production and evaluation.

Students will be using their independence, analytical and critical reflective skills to research and develop their ideas and outcomes using traditional and innovative technology. Exciting project themes will encourage students to become sustainable practitioners with a sound understanding of business practice. Students will gain an understanding of the behaviours required to become a success in the media and broadcasting industry

How will I be assessed?

Assessment involves externally set projects where students will develop a substantial body of work in response to an employer set brief. Occupational specialist assignments will ask students to research, develop and reflect on other practitioners and the industry to create their own media related outcomes. The first year sees students complete two written examinations based on the core content. The exams will ask students to demonstrate, apply and analyse their knowledge and their understanding of the media industry, using written and mathematical application. A successful industry placement will support learning and competence concerning business practice and the expectations, and wider considerations that are an integral part of the media and broadcasting industry.

What will this lead to?

Students can progress to entry roles in the media and broadcasting industry. They can also progress to related higher education courses and higher technical qualifications.
