T Level in Science Level 3
Course Details
What Will I Study?
You’ll explore biology, chemistry and physics, while learning how science is used in areas such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental science and research.
This isn't just about sitting in a classroom learning theory. You’ll spend plenty of time getting hands-on in the laboratory, carrying out experiments, using scientific equipment, analysing results and solving problems like a real scientist.
You'll also spend at least 315 hours on an industry placement, giving you the chance to experience a real workplace and put your skills into practice.
By the end of the course, you'll have developed scientific knowledge, practical laboratory skills, workplace experience and transferable skills that can help you move into employment, an apprenticeship or higher education.
How Will I Be Assessed?
First year - 3 exams and an Employer Set Project
Second year - occupational specialism assessments (Laboratory Science)
Placement hours are done across both years.
Lessons are a mixture of theory and practicals.
