Nails level 2

Learners on the Level 2 NVQ Nail Treatments course will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply these aspects to practical tasks.

Core topics include:

• Anatomy and physiology for hands and feet

• Health and safety

• Client care

• Salon reception duties

• Promoting products and services

• Nail enhancements (clear)

• Manicure services

• Pedicure services

• Nail art services

Work experience is an essential part of all full-time study programmes. Learners will complete a minimum of 35 hours within an industry-linked environment per academic year/qualification.

NVQ qualifications are graded pass, Pass + and Pass++ 

Continuous on-course assessment involves:

• Practical observations

• Externally set written/or online modular tests

• Verbal questioning

The Level 2 Nail Services is aimed at learners who are looking to start a career in the nail industry.

Learners can further their studies by taking the Level 3 Nail Services. This develops more advanced and specialist nail skills. The Level 3 qualification can include areas such as liquid and powder enhancements, UV gel enhancements, advanced/creative nail art, E-filing, promotional activities, commercial salon experience, digital branding and client development - or other qualifications at Level 2 such as Beauty Therapy, to broaden their skills base and support employability.
