Creative Arts, Design and Media

Games Design Level 3

Course Details

What Will I Study?

Love games? Learn to make the worlds you play in. You’ll create concept art for characters, environments and assets, model in 3D using industry tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Mudbox and Unreal Engine, and design 2D and 3D game environments.

You’ll also explore perspective drawing, stop-motion animation, and video and audio editing using Adobe Creative Suite, while building a games portfolio that showcases your ideas from first sketch to a playable-looking world.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You’ll be assessed continuously throughout each project. For every project, you’ll keep a sketchbook of research and experiments that leads to a final piece, which is assessed through a presentation and exhibition.

Feedback is recorded on the College’s digital assessment platform, and one-to-one tutorials will review your progress and set targets.

Your final grade comes from your Final Major Project, an exhibition piece of your own choosing, which is assessed by tutors and peers and externally moderated.
