Course Details

What Will I Study?

Level 2 Gym Instructor / Level 3 Personal Trainer (2 Year Programme, 16-18 years)

Fitness Instruction will give you the opportunity to become a fully qualified Fitness Instructor. You will learn about how the body works, health and safety in a fitness environment, session planning and practical delivery. The following units will be delivered:

Level 2

  • The Musculoskeletal System
  • The Cardio/Respiratory System
  • The Nervous System
  • Principles of Exercise, Health and Fitness
  • Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment.

Level 3

  • The Muscular System
  • The Respiratory System
  • The Endocrine System
  • The Circulatory System
  • The Nervous System
  • Nutrition
  • Programming Personal Training with Clients
  • Advanced Training Methods.

This will give you the knowledge to train clients on a self employed basis in a gym, and progress onto higher qualifications.

Level 2 Gym Instructor

  • A&P exam / Principles of health and fitness - multiple choice
  • Learner Achievement Portfolio
  • Practical assessments
  • Course assignments.

Level 3 Personal Trainer

  • A&P exam - multiple choice
  • Nutrition exam - multiple choice
  • Learner Achievement Portfolio
  • Practical Assessments
  • Course assignments (Food diary, 12 week personal plan, business plan).

What could this course lead to?

Level 3 Personal Trainer

This course could lead to self-employment as a gym instructor, personal trainer or other career opportunities within local gyms.
