Course Details

What Will I Study?

You will study English/ESOL and Maths alongside a vocational qualification at Level 1. 

16-18 - Level 1 Business with ESOL/Functional Skills

Learners study ESOL/Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 1 (some learners will complete Level 2 dependant on progress) alongside the Level 1 Certificate in Business. 

16-18 - Level 1 - General Vocational with ESOL/Functional Skills

This course is for second language learners offered a place on Level 1 vocational courses within college but support in improving their English at Level 1. You will study your chosen vocational course in college alongside English/ESOL and Maths within the ESOL faculty. 

19+ - Level 1 Health & Social Care with ESOL/Functional Skills

This course is for adults with an interest in working in the health and social care sector. You will study Level 1 Health & Safety alongside English/ESOL. More information is available at assessment. 

This provision is under review so other vocational areas may come available - the tutor will give you more information at assessment.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will be given regular tests to check your progress in English and Maths.

For the vocational element of the course you will complete assignments and coursework for each unit during the course.

What could this course lead to?

You will be able to progress to Level 2 vocational provision (dependant on entry requirements) and into work.
