Barbering Level 2

On the Level 2 Diploma in Barbering you will study theoretical aspects of Barbering and apply them during practical assessment tasks.

Core topics include:

• Health and Safety
• Consultation
• Shampoo & condition
• Cutting men’s hair
• Cutting facial hair
• Colour and lighten hair
• Provide perming services
• Dry and finish men's hair
• Create an image based on a theme. 
  
  

Work experience is an essential part of all full-time study programmes. Learners will complete a minimum of 35 hours within an industry-linked environment per academic year/qualification.

Continuous assessment includes:

• Practical observations
• Online modular tests
• Verbal questioning.

All Diploma qualification practical assessments are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is aimed at learners looking to start a career in the Barbering industry. On completion of the course, learners can progress into employment or further their studies by taking a Level 3 Certificate in Barbering.

Other Level 2 pathways, such as Level 2 Women's Hairdressing, can further broaden career opportunities.
