After having my children and being on maternity leave, I decided I wanted to change my career and do something I have always wanted to do but had previously never had the opportunity to pursue.
Going back into education and learning something new was a big step, so I was nervous at first – but my tutor Leah and classmates were so welcoming right from the start that I instantly felt relaxed and have loved spending Thursday evenings at College ever since.
I chose Oldham College as the College offered the opportunity to learn part-time, which fitted around my family commitments.
I also chose to come to the College because of the facilities. Having Salon 7, a commercial salon, on-site helped with the practical side of learning, as we used some of the facilities – such as the sauna.
I have absolutely loved this course! I have learnt so much about the beauty industry already, and I can’t wait to learn more.
My tutor Leah has been incredible. She has supported me throughout my course and is always there to help whenever I have needed it.
She always goes above and beyond, and has given me so much confidence not only in my abilities as a beauty therapist, but also in myself.
I have been offered a position in a local beauty salon. The salon has also given me the opportunity to further my career and continue my education in the beauty industry, by moving onto Level 2 Beauty Therapy while working.
