Photography Level 3
Course Details
What Will I Study?
See the world differently through a lens. On our Photography pathway, you’ll develop your skills in manual and digital photography, exploring camera settings, lighting and composition.
You’ll shoot everything from portraits and landscapes to documentary and studio photography, and edit and develop your creative work using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
You’ll use cutting-edge technology to experiment with your photography, while also exploring traditional techniques. You’ll work in our studios and head out on location, building a portfolio that showcases your range, from carefully lit studio portraits to striking documentary photography for events such as weddings and sports, as well as journalistic content.
How Will I Be Assessed?
You’ll be assessed continuously throughout each project. For every project, you’ll keep a sketchbook of research and experiments that leads to a final piece, which is assessed through a presentation and exhibition.
Feedback is recorded on the College’s digital assessment platform, and one-to-one tutorials will review your progress and set targets.
Your final grade comes from your Final Major Project (FMP), where you’ll create an exhibition piece of your own choosing. This is assessed by tutors and peers and externally moderated.
