What Could This Course Lead To?

The T Level Technical Qualification in Health has been designed specifically to prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships and higher-level study within the health sector. Learners completing the programme are expected to have developed the core healthcare knowledge and skills needed to progress towards occupational competence within healthcare.

For learners following the Supporting the Midwifery Team pathway, progression opportunities may include Maternity Support Worker and other healthcare support roles. The specification also identifies progression to Level 3 healthcare apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships such as the Level 5 Nursing Associate and Level 5 Assistant Practitioner (Health).

Learners who want to continue into higher education can also progress to relevant HNC, HND or degree programmes. For learners interested in becoming a registered midwife, the programme can therefore provide a strong foundation for progression towards Midwifery degree-level study, subject to meeting the individual university's entry requirements. The specification specifically advises learners to check degree entry requirements with their chosen higher-education provider.

This creates a progression pathway from T Level Health can beto maternity/healthcare employment or apprenticeship, higher technical study or university or professional healthcare careers, while giving learners substantial NHS experience through placement with Northern Care Alliance.
