Course Details

What will I Study?

Offer to adults entering and looking for sustained employment in the adult care sector and supporting the qualification of already employed adult care workers to raise standards.

Over the duration of this course you will develop the values, knowledge and skills required to work in a range of health and social care support settings and in adult care environments. You will learn a wide range of topics including legislation and regulation, safeguarding and protection, dementia awareness, mental health and wellbeing, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

How Will I Be Assessed?

This course will be assessed through a range of methods such as written questions, observations and professional discussion. It is internally assessed and externally quality assured.

Entry Requirements

No specific entry requirements, but you must be employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week or have an employer willing to support you in this course and permit assessment by the team.

Adults seeking to start work in adult care work, or who work in adult care but do not yet have the Level 2 diploma.

Delivery Method

You can start this course at any time during the year. Typically it will take 12 months to achieve. Part-time programme with a minimum of 12-16 hours in work, with 1:1 and/or group learning and assessment. Class days TBC.
