Course Details
What Will I Study?
We offer a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
This qualification provides an entrance qualification to training if you want to become a qualified professional counsellor, or you may wish to develop a range of counselling skills to use within the workplace. This qualification does not give license to practice as a trained counsellor but does provide the stepping stone to qualified practitioner status.
The qualification is intended to provide a range of counselling skills: skills in self-awareness and self-assessment, and how this impacts individuals. The course will provide knowledge in theoretical principles, enabling learners to establish good practice through self reflection while working together with peers and the tutor.
How Will I Be Assessed?
The qualification includes four units, making up a portfolio of evidence related to these units and their associated unit outcomes and assessment criteria. The portfolio is internally assessed and externally moderated.
What could this course lead to?
The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is a pre-requisite for admission to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
