How to Apply
School Leavers
16-18 Courses including T Levels
Step 1 - Visit us at an Open Event
Explore our campus and meet our tutors at one of our exciting Open Events!
Step 2 - Apply for a Course
Apply for your chosen course on our website.
Once you’ve applied for a course, download the My Oldham College app to track your application, arrange your interview, accept your offer and view your enrolment slot! Simply search for ‘My Oldham College’ in your app store.
Step 3 - Attend an Interview
From November 2026 you will be invited to book onto an interview event to secure a place on the course that’s right for you. You will have 1-2-1 guidance, meet your tutors and see our fantastic facilities. Please note that final interviews take place in April 2027 and no further Interview Events will be offered after this.
Step 4- Accept your offer
After you have attended an interview, you will then receive a conditional offer to join us. Offers of a place on our courses are always conditional and are dependent on meeting entry criteria.
You must accept your offer to be placed on our VIP Enrolment list for August 2027.
Step 5 – Enjoy our New Student FEst
Taking place on 23rd June 2027, get a taste for college life at our exclusive event for 16-18 applicants who have received a course place offer.
Step 6 – Enrol on your course
If you have accepted your offer, you will receive your personal invitation to one of our VIP Enrolment sessions on GCSE Results Day. VIP Enrolment is not a guarantee of a place on a course. Course places are subject to availability during enrolment and meeting the course eligibility criteria.
If you haven’t accepted your offer, didn’t attend your interview or applied after the interview events finished, you will be invited to enrol from GCSE Results Day onwards.
Step 7 - Induction
You will have a thorough induction designed to introduce you to all the elements of college life. Your future begins here.
Welcome to Oldham College!
Apprenticeships
Step 1 - Visit an Open Event
Applying for an apprenticeship is a little bit different than applying for a 16-18 vocational course.
Make sure you visit us to explore our campus, meet our tutors and chat with our Apprenticeships team.
Step 2 - Apply Online
Whilst you do need to apply via the website, similarly to vocational courses, you will also need to find an employer to support your apprenticeship or have successfully secured an employer thorough an existing apprenticeship vacancy.
For this reason, we ask that all 16-18 year olds also apply for a vocational programme, so that you can continue your learning even if you do not gain employment.
Step 3 - Attend an Apprenticeship Workshop
Once you have applied for an apprenticeship programme, you will be invited in for a series of workshops.
These workshops will help you to build up your employability skills, as well as provide an opportunity to work with our Apprenticeships team on improving your CV and interview technique.
Step 4 - Secure an Employer
We’ll do everything we can to help you secure an apprenticeship employer. However you will need to search for vacancies and contact employers yourself. Don’t forget there may be employers in your personal network looking for an apprentice, so make sure you ask family, friends and acquaintances if they know of anyone suitable.
Once you have secured a role as an apprentice, we will organise everything with your employer so that you can start learning with us.
