Report an Absence
At Oldham College, good attendance is essential to success, and we expect all learners to attend every timetabled activity unless there is a genuine reason why they are unable to do so. This includes lessons, progress reviews, tutorials, work experience and maths and English classes.
We understand that there may be times when you cannot attend college due to illness or other circumstances beyond your control.

If you are unable to attend college, you must email your tutor directly at least 30 minutes before your first class.
To do this:
• Log in to Google Classroom.
• Click People at the top of the page.
• Find your tutor’s name in the list.
• Click the email icon next to their name.
• Include your full name, student number, the reason for your absence and how long you expect to be absent.
You must email your tutor each day that you are absent.
Please note: No other method of reporting an absence will be accepted.
