Intermediate Apprenticeship in Food Production
As an Apprentice in Food Production, you will gain skills and knowledge to carry out the following duties, maintain food safety, produce food dished and prepare hot and cold food. You will also demonstrate the following behaviours, effective communication with colleagues, safe working practice and effective team member.
Entry requirements- English and Maths grades 3-9 or A-D, or working towards Functional Skills Level 1.
What will I achieve?
NVQ Level 2 Food Production
Level 2 Functional Skills
You will attend college half day per week and you will a minimum of 30 hours in the work place. Your College day will consist of maths and English delivery. Theory and practical will be delivered offsite at your employer’s premises.
Assessment takes place within college, in the work place.

Entry Level Programme: Skills for Life & Work
No formal qualifications are required for this course, although evidence of personal progression from previous education establishments would be beneficial.
These courses are specifically designed for learners with a special educational need (SEND).
Entry Level Programme: Skills & Employability
English & maths GCSE Grades G-U / 1 or English & maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3
GCSE Re-sit Study Programme
You will receive an offer of a place on the course subject to passing an English & maths assessment.
Vocational Level 1 Programme
English & maths GCSE Grades E-G/1- 2 or English & maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3.
Vocational Level 2 Programme
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including maths and English or a vocational qualification Level 1, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both maths and English. English & maths Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.
Vocational Level 3 Programme
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A-C/4-9 (including maths and English) or a vocational qualification Level 2, plus GCSE grade C/4 in both maths and English

If you are aged between 16 and 18 when you start your course and are taking a course leading to a qualification, the tuition and exam fees are free. However, there may be some additional costs for optional trips, recommended text books and professional start up kits. We have a bursary scheme to assist with these costs.
