Financial Compliance/Risk Analyst TLevel

What will I study?

If you want to develop a career in Financial Compliance and Risk Analyst, then enrol on this new generation of Gold Standard qualifications as a technical alternative to A Levels. T Levels are developed by the Institute of Apprenticeships; employers and the Department for Education. The T Level Technical Qualification in Finance provides the opportunity to specialise in Financial Compliance and Risk Analyst. A Financial Compliance and Risk Analyst identify and analyse the areas of potential risk threatening the assets, earning capacity or success of organisations in the industrial, commercial or public sector. Risk analysts may work in sales, origination, trading, marketing, financial services or private banking, specialising in: credit. A compliance team works together with the risk and legal teams to ensure all compliance policies are updated and that there's sufficient risk management. Compliance analysts play a role by offering potential recommendations based on careful research and analysis

T-Level's are split into three main sections:
1) Technical qualification (TQ): This is the main, classroom-based element. Students will learn about their chosen sectors through a curriculum designed by employers and developed by the awarding organisation (AO) Pearsons. This is made up of core content and then the opportunity to specialise into 1 of 4 different occupational specialisms, in this case a Financial Compliance and Risk Analyst. Through the core content, students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:
• The business environment – general understanding of business models, tax laws, fundamental business principles and drivers for change.
• Fundamentals of financial accounting – an understanding of elementary financial principles, concepts and practices and how this content links to relevant accounting, bookkeeping, and business mathematics.
• Professionalism and ethics - an understanding of professional conduct and responsibilities in the workplace and ethical dilemmas for the individual, organisation and professional.
• Data driven innovation and analytics and design thinking – an awareness of key requirements of a data governance framework and understand the main contemporary visualisation tools and when they are best used to support decision making.

2) Industry placement: This runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
3) English, maths and digital provision: These are also built into the classroom-based element of the T Level, meaning students will be given a solid foundation of transferable skills.

How will I be assessed?

To achieve this T Level, learners must meet all requirements of the T Level framework of which the technical qualification is one part. Learners must successfully complete an industry placement, maths and English at level 2

Learners must complete:
Two externally set exams, one employer-set project and one occupational specialism assessment.

What will this lead to?

The T Level in Finance aims to progress students into one of 4 occupational specialisms through employment or as an Apprentice. These specialisms are Financial Compliance Risk Analyst, Insurance Practitioner, Invest Banking Asset Management Analyst or Retail and Commercial Banking Analyst. Furthermore, the completion of this qualifications gives students the opportunity to progress onto higher education courses and training.

Entry requirements

Entry Level Courses :
Skills for Life & Work
No formal qualifications are required for this course, although evidence of personal progression from previous education establishments would be beneficial.
These courses are specifically designed for learners with a special educational need (SEND).

Skills & Employability
English & maths GCSE Grades G-U / 1 or English & maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3

Full Time ESOL
No formal qualification are required for this course, you will recieve an offer of a place subject to passing an assessment;

Full Time GCSE Re-sit Study Course
You will receive an offer of a place on the course subject to passing an assessment.

Full Time Level 1 Course
English & Maths GCSE Grades E-G/1- 2 or English & Maths Functional Skills Entry Level 3.

Full Time Level 2 Course
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including English and Maths or a vocational qualification Level 1 in the chosen subject, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both English and Maths.
English & Maths Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.

Full time Level 3 Course
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A-C/4-9 (including English and Maths) or a vocational qualification Level 2 in the chosen subject,
English & Maths Functional Skills Level 2 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs in some subject areas.

T Level
Minimum of 5 GCSE passes but English and Maths GCSE must be Grade 5 or above.
T levels in Science and Healthcare Science will also require a minimum of a grade 5 in a GCSE Science subject.

Cost

If you are aged between 16 and 18 when you start your course and are taking a course leading to a qualification, the tuition and exam fees are free. However, there may be some additional costs for optional trips, recommended text books and professional start up kits. We have a bursary scheme to assist with these costs.

If you're aged 19 or over, you may be eligible for funding towards your course fees. It will depend on your personal circumstances and will be discussed at enrolment. You will be asked to bring documentation with you when you are invited to enrol.
If you are aged 19 and over and study Maths or English and do not already hold a C grade/4 or higher in the subject that you are studying, you will get the course for free.
