This course provides a progression opportunity for level 2 workers in readiness for level 3 teaching assistant roles, providing a higher level of knowledge and skills within the Education Sector
This qualification provides learners with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge, behaviours and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments. It covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice. You will learn about topics such as schools and colleges as organisations, safeguarding and keeping children safe in education, positive behaviour, supporting English and maths, ICT in the learning environment, and supporting language and communication development.
This course will be assessed through a range of methods such as assignments, observation and professional discussion. It is internally assessed and external quality assured.
No specific entry requirements but must be employed for minimum 16 hours per week or have an employer willing to support, placement. You Should have a level 2/Grade 4 in English, and have or be willing to work towards Level 2/Grade 4 in maths.
