This course provides opportunity to adults entering, volunteering or looking for sustained employment in the Early Years Sector. It offers the industry required qualification for level 2 workers in the sector.
Over the duration of this course you will develop the knowledge and understanding of caring for babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age; with applied knowledge in the early years (0-5 years). You will be supported to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the industry; learning about the role and responsibilities of the early years practitioner in terms of health and safety, safeguarding, equality diversity and inclusion and how to care for, plan and support activities for baby and children's development.
This course will be assessed through a range of methods such as written questions, observation and professional discussion. It is internally assessed and external quality assured.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course but you must be employed or have an employer willing to support placement for minimum 16 hours per week for the duration of the course.
