Course Aims

Level 3 Certificates are vocational qualifications which focus on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the beauty industry. They are a stepping-stone to a higher-level qualification such as VRQ Diplomas, Technical Diplomas and NVQ'S. HABIA, the standard setting body for Hair and Beauty, has approved them and the awarding body City & Guilds provide the qualification

What will I study?

This qualification focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the beauty industry. It is a stepping-stone to a higher-level qualification

Core topics include:

Scalp Massage services Health & Safety Consultation Cutting men’s hair Cutting facial hair Shaving and facial massage service

How will I be assessed?

Theory Assessments & Practical Assessments. These are graded Pass/ Merit/ Distinction; the assessments are ongoing and planned using an assessment calendar.
To achieve full certification, you must complete 6 units. Mandatory units include scalp massage services, health & Safety, consultation, cutting men's hair, and cutting facial hair. Then learners can select either shaving and facial massage services or designing and creating patterns.
