Apprentices change image for success

Business Administration Apprentices at The Oldham College were involved in a unique activity which gave them a whole new outlook on their future careers.

Covering a activities from thought provoking presentations to team work  the event aimed to develop apprentices skills and abilities, and included speeches on  ‘What are managers and employers looking for’, to a catwalk activity and a full image consultation from professional image consultants, The Glass Slipper.

Lynne Zarzecki, Curriculum Manager at The Oldham College commented, “By taking part in our Apprentices in Business Administration were able to develop their skills in communication and personal presentation through a range of exciting activities. Presentations were given from Human resource professionals and external image consultants. The event was a great success and has been really positive for the apprentices involved”

Business Administration Apprentice, Kimberley Titus said “This gave me a new way of looking at how I present myself for interviews and within the workplace. I led my team to victory, winning prizes for how the team worked together to achieve building a couch from balloons. This event really improved my confidence and developed my skills which will help my career in Business Administration

Apprenticeships are an important aspect of the College’s provision and offer a genuine alternative to full time study with the benefits of developing skills employers look for and allowing apprentices to access University after completing qualifications.

Director of Business Development, Tony Spencer added “Apprenticeships are vitally important to The Oldham College. This innovative event underlines our commitment to ensuring that learners studying Apprenticeships through the college are able to access all development opportunities which they can enhance their personal skills in addition to the qualifications they are studying for.”
