Statement
I started working full time in hairdressing when I was 16 and really enjoyed it. After a while though I wanted to further my career in the industry and felt that gaining qualifications would be the best way to do this. So when the time was right, I decided to go to The Oldham College.
I successfully achieved an NVQ Level 1 Hairdressing certificate and then progressed onto the NVQ Level 2, the Diploma Level 3 and then the NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing. I learnt a great deal on these courses and particularly enjoyed being taught about the different colouring and styling techniques.
Studying at the college has definitely helped progress my career as a hairdresser, and I’m proud to say that I’m now a manageress of The Hair Factory, a local hair salon in Clarksfield. In the future I would like to open my own salon and perhaps move into teaching by completing further courses at the college. I’ve worked hard to succeed in my career and going to The Oldham College has really helped me to achieve my goals.
