Make your mark in building a better world in the UK and further afield by becoming a qualified professional in the construction or automotive sector.

An Oldham College course prepares you for specialist craft operative, technical or professional career in construction, vehicle maintenance, brickwork, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering, electrical installation, plumbing and building services.

You will build your skills and knowledge in the classroom guided by teachers who
have had successful careers in the sector and are keen to share their knowledge with you. You will build on your college work with good employers and placements to hone and develop your new technical skills.

In college, you will enjoy learning in our superbly equipped workshops which exceed industry standards and include our Green Technology Centre, a lead hub for the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies

Study Programme

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
