Our health, social care and education courses prepare you for an exciting range of careers in this growing sector of the economy.

All our courses are vocationally focused. It means your learning is directly relevant to real world careers so you will spend significant periods of the time on practical placements working alongside experienced professional.
With enthusiastic, sector experienced teachers and courses developed in consultation with employers, you can be sure that your course will equip your with the skills and knowledge to start your career.

Our students are in demand from employers including schools, NHS, local authorities and the private sector. Completing a Level 3 qualification is also your passport to university where you can qualify for a wide range of careers including nursing, teaching, social work and the health professions.

Study Programme


All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
