This course provides an excellent introduction into this exciting and growing industry. To be successful you need to have great communication skills and an ability to work ‘hands on’ with a wide range of clients. High standards of health and safety, personal presentation, hygiene and behaviour are essential when working in salon environments.

Level 2 Beauty Therapy provides several progression routes, if you have a flair for nails then Level 3 Nail services could be the right course for you or if you prefer a more holistic approach then our Level 3 Beauty Therapy which includes different massage techniques may be more suitable.

Level 2 Beauty Therapy covers: - facial, manicure, pedicure, eye treatments, waxing, make-up, health and safety, promoting products and services, and personal development. This course provides an excellent introduction into the beauty industry.

As a student of Oldham College you will have full use of all the college facilities. This year we have opened our new Hair and Beauty building with brand new training salons, a commercial salon, tanning room and Spa.

You will achieve an internationally recognised qualification which will open up a wide range of career opportunities e.g. Spa therapist, Salon owner, Technical demonstrator, working abroad or on cruise liners or even as a mobile therapist.

No Formal Entry Requirements

Maths and English A-D, 

If you are aged 16-23 the Skills Funding Agency will fund the cost of the training.
If you are aged 24+ an employer contribution would be required.

Study Programme

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
