Public Services uniform is to be worn while on campus – details will be provided on enrolment.
Level 2 – 4 x GCSE grade D or level 3 (including English and Maths)

This is a full time course for those students who wish to pursue a future career in the Army, RAF, Navy, Police and Fire Service or related organisations.

Students will need a genuine interest in the Public Services, and will need to have the attributes needed to be part of the Public Services such as; Self discipline, motivation, teamwork, enthusiasm and determination.

A basic level of fitness is required however this will be improved over the course of the year.

This is a full time introductory course to the Public Services, for those students who wish to pursue a future career in the Army, RAF, Navy, Police and Fire Service or related organisations.

Students will need a genuine interest in the Public Services, and will need to have the attributes needed to be part of the Public Services such as; Self discipline, motivation, teamwork, enthusiasm and determination.

A basic level of fitness is required however this will be improved over the course of the year.

All students will have to conduct a minimum of 35 hours whilst on their level 2 course to achieve the certificate. Enrichment carried out throughout the year can contribute to this.

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
