Your studies will include:

  • Music classes (guitar, drums, singing etc.)
  • Music industry
  • Performance studies
  • Working as a band
  • Recording music
  • Making music
  • Listening skills
  • Writing music.

As well as developing performance and technical skills, you will participate in maths and English classes to ensure that you are improving core skills which will help you gain professional employment in the Music industry.

Level 2 – 4 x GCSE grade D or level 3 (including English and Maths)

You will be assessed through practical assignments and live projects, for example productions, creative workshops and projects, tours, portfolio work.

Our tutors have a wealth of industry experience, all working as musicians, producers or engineers, ensuring that you receive first class, professional training, working on projects in our specialist studios and professional theatre.

Study Programme

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
