During the course you will complete units from the University of Arts London course developing visual language, research skills, drawing and materials and processes your ability to:

  • Communicate graphically and creatively through digital and manual techniques
  • Focus on projecting artistic and commercial themes for your design work
  • Learn dynamic image making skills using 3D and 2D software.
  • Explore Adobe software
  • Create design for Games companies and clients.
  • Complete a final major project working independently and exhibit.
Level 2 – 4 x GCSE grade D or level 3 (including English and Maths)

Tutor reviews which are usually three weeks prior to their final assessments. Learners have regular tutorials where their assessment grades are checked.

Your course will be approved and examined by the University of Arts London (UAL) awarding body. UAL is the only specialist awarding body for art, design and creative industries in England. Their qualifications are nationally accredited.

You can progress onto the Level 3 Games Design course.

Previous students have progressed to Degrees in games design, animation and illustration, special effects, product design and teaching after their level 3 courses. 

We will provide you with a unique experience preparing you for a career in the Games/ Design or Creative industry. The course will build your confidence in concept design, 2D digital illustration, 3D digital design and model making, Illustration including the digital skills you need to communicate your design work. You will also develop the basic creative communication skills needed such as painting, drawing, printing and academic writing skills for evaluation and research.

This will help you to understand how the industry works and what personal, academic and creative skills you will need to be successful.

Digital Art For 3D Games and Media BA (Hons)

(after completing level 3 in this subject)

Work experience is focused on building employability skills and understanding of professional working.  This is through collaborative projects with game students, taking part in talks by visiting industry professionals, live competition briefs, off-site visits to museums and film exhibitions.
