This 2 year course allows students to explore digital technologies. From app development to web design, web development to ‘big data’ the skills learned on this course will set students up for the challenges that software developers face over the coming years.

Students will focus on:

  • Web sites
  • Interactive media
  • Developing the User Experience (UX)
  • Visual Basic and Python
  • PHP
  • JavaScript
  • Web development  
  • Database design
  • SQL
  • Project management
  • Data security

This course includes the opportunity to achieve additional Microsoft Specialist Course. Private training providers often charge £500 + for these courses.

Students will be assessed through formal written evidence, producing wikis and blogs and also delivering presentations. We also assess students practical abilities using recorded evidence, both video and audio.

We aim to give students the opportunities to engage with employers within the digital industries sector. This can range from lectures and master classes through to a short placement of internship with one of the members of our employer advisory board.
