What does this qualification cover?

This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the Electrical industry. The following areas that will be covered within this qualification:

• Health and safety Unit 201/501

• Principles of electrical science Unit 202

• Electrical installations theory Unit 203

• Installation of wiring systems Unit 204

• Communication within building services engineering. Unit 210

What could this qualification lead to?

On successful completion this qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to further progress your learning within the electrical industry.

Leading to the level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation 2365-03. This will also give you better employ-ability when applying for jobs within the electrical industry. 

You will be required to have 5 GCSE's at Grades C and above including Maths and English as a minimum.

City & Guilds 600/5498/0 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at you if you, if you are looking to start a career in the electrical industry. This qualification is suitable for anyone from 16 years old or over. There are no formal entry requirements for anyone wishing to take this qualification, however you will be required to have 5 GCSE's at Grades 4 and above and these must include Maths and English as a minimum grade 4 and a science grade 4 and above.

Will this qualification lead to further learning?

To become a qualified electrician you will need to progress onto either of the following qualifications: Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electro-technical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electro-technical Services (Electrical Maintenance).

After completing this level 2 and the level 3 program the following year, progression onto the HNC course offered by the Oldham University.

Centers and providers may work with local employers who can contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers may provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers. This practically based training is ideal preparation for training on the job or specialist further study.
