This course has been designed to help students gain an intermediate level of underpinning knowledge and associated practical skills demanded of a Carpenter within the industry.
Progressing to Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery will develop a greater practical skill base and underpin knowledge to position you for a career in construction.
We will look to offer work experience wherever possible. In the past level 2 students have created and reconfigured areas within the College and potential apprenticeship opportunities with employers may arise.
On completion students can progress on to Level 3 Site Carpentry or onto a part time apprenticeship course on gaining suitable employment.
Students need to have completed the Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery or an equivalent course
Direct entry to L2 maybe possible with Grade C English and Maths but this will be dependant on numbers
The course is free to 16 - 18 year olds.
Students can gain employment as either a Site or Bench Joiner. Current figures show that the average salary for Construction in the North West is £26,000 per annum.
