Have you missed the opportunity to start a college course in September? We have an exciting 12 week programme starting in January, for 12 hours per week, introducing you to college life and enabling you to explore your future pathways. 

You will participate in workshops and classroom activities exploring Employability Skills, preparing you for your next steps into work, traineeships or another college programme. You will learn about presentation skills, building on your confidence and communication techniques. You will take part in enterprise projects, C.V. writing, interview techniques, and team building activities. You will learn about the college vocational offers, and have a taster of work experience. You will brush up on your maths and English.

You will achieve the confidence and skills to plan your future and move forward into a new work or college environment.

A one-year programme (My Choice) and access to other vocational programmes in College.
The ability to commit to 100% attendance and to participate in a positive manner.

Study Programme

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
